Knife Description:
Traditional, convenient and multi-purpose Pocket Saw.
The monster stainless-bladed no.12 Opinel locking saw is large, perfect for cutting branches and foliage of up to 8/9 cm in diameter - best carried in a bag or coat pocket due to its size - blade length is 12 cm.
The smaller locking blade Opinel saw. With its blade designed with razor-sharp teeth like knives, cutting is clean, even and effortless, achieved simply by pulling.
The blade locks using the Virobloc safety ring, which in addition to locking the blade in the open position for safety of use, now enables locking of the blade in the closed position for safety during carrying. The double safety ring "VIROBLOC", was created by Marcel Opinel in 1955, locks the blade either in open or closed position.
The no.12 saw uses Sandvik stainless steel, developed by Opinel and renowned for its incomparable cutting qualities; it requires no special cleaning to maintain or clean it. The stainless steel capable of undergoing the heat treatment that gives it its good hardness is called martensitic. It has a carbon content of at least 0.40%, giving it a good cutting edge and an excellent resistance to corrosion.
The handle is made from durable French natural beech wood, and the Opinel serrated blade is effective, precise, elegant.
