About Grohmann:

Grohmann Knives is a small family business with a big reputation which produces Top Quality knives since 1949 which sold the world over.

At Grohmann, making knives is as much an Art as a Trade. The top quality knives are produced with as many as 53 steps between starting point & finished product.

Knife Description:

Modelled after the #1 Original Design. A favourite among Big Game Hunters the world over as well as for those looking for a generous size Outdoor Knife.

The Grohmann # 4 Survival Knife with its 14.5 cm Ellipical Drop-Point Blade with False Edge manufactured from German C70 High Carbon Steel comes with a sturdy design for those with larger hands and a Lock down sheath design, belt loop positioned high for comfort while sitting or riding.

This model comes with a classic, black Linen MicartaHandle with Lanyard Hole.

Superior handcrafted quality also refers to Grohmann’s custom designed leather sheaths. Every Belt Knife comes with a top grade oil tanned sheath. All leather sheaths are made of 6 to 8 ounce steer-hide that is glued, stitched and riveted for maximum strength & durability. Each sheath is then oiled tanned and polished by hand to give it a beautiful finish.

People who own a Grohmann Knife are Connoisseurs of Perfection and have come to expect superior handcrafted quality that can't be matched.

Note: As any quality steel goes, stainless or carbon, all knives should be kept cleaned and oiled to prevent rusting, but especially in the carbon steel knives. They tend to hold an edge longer and sharpen up faster than the stainless, but they will corrode if not kept cleaned and oiled at all times when not in use. When carbon knives leave the Grohmann factory, the blades are oiled with non-toxic mineral oil and wrapped in wax paper to preserve the blades. Carbon will corrode if not kept cleaned and oiled, this is the nature of the beast, so be sure to wash your knives after use, dry and apply a light oil. Even stain "less" knives can corrode if not kept cleaned and oiled as there is a high content of carbon in them as well. Knives left to rust/corrode are not be covered under warranty, but can usually be mailed in and refinished for a fee and return shipping/applicable tax.
