Knife Description:
The Argentine Criollo or Gaucho knives are one of the pieces that has been traditionally with the gauchos. This cutting weapon, was useful because with her the gaucho killed his meat, ate, was protected, it made other tools, and it used it like razor.
He is characteristic of the Argentine knives, his way to carry it: in the boot, the waist, on the kidneys, with the handle of the knife shown towards the right flank.
The Argentine knife is used by the gaucho like a weapon and instrument of work.
To imagine to a gaucho without its knife facon, is more difficult that to imagine it without its horse.
The Miguel Nieto Criollo Gaucho Knife comes with a 6” Spear-Point Blade manufactured from German 1.4116 Stainless Steel. This carbon, martensitic stainless steel with moderate corrosion resistance, good strength and the ability to obtain and keep moderate hardness (RC 55-57) and wear resistance. This is an older steel alloy, and might be thought of as similar in performance to 420HC steel.
The Mustang comes with a nice brown Linen Micarta Handle with Lanyard Hole and Leather Lanyard.
The knife stores in a beautifully handmade, protective Leather Sheath without Belt Loop.
