Knife Description:
The Bark River Gameskeeper is one of the very first knives Bark River Knives ever made. It is certainly one of the most important knives they have ever made.
The Bark River Gameskeeper is a cornerstone of BRKT's Deluxe Game Series. Designed by legendary knife maker, Mike Stewart, the Gameskeeper is one of the best Hunting / Outdoor Knives ever field tested.
It is designed to handle any of the larger game animals--it is perfect for dressing out Deer, Elk, Moose, even Bear. The Blade has a heavy spine and a quick taper point that is meant to be driven into joints to pop them for breaking down larger game for packing out. The extended ricasso of the Gameskeeper allows for a generous choil behind the cutting edge. This choil permits you to safely choke up with your first finger on to the ricasso for maximum edge control in finer work.
Unlike many delicate hunting knives, the Gameskeeper is made to be able to handle the most demanding camp chores as well.
Though this is a classic, it has undergone a few changes over the years.
It’s 11.2 cm Drop-Point Blade is made of A-2 Tool Steel for ease of sharpening and edge-holding. The black Canvas Micarta Handle is a good comfortable fit as it is contoured to fit the fingers and has a palm swell that allows better gripping of the palm.
The Gameskeeper strikes the perfect balance of dexterity and brawn and even with its blade the Knife is easy to carry and well balanced.
stout The knife has been skeletonized under the handle Slabs to minimize weight and give the blade more feel in use.
With every great knife, there needs to be a great sheath. Here at Bark River Knives each of our knives are supplied with a handmade full-grain hide sheath. The leather is vegetable tanned with ingredients found in different vegetable matter.
