About Spyderco:

When you purchase a Spyderco you are buying a high-quality reliable cutting tool designed and manufactured for peak performance and ergonomic comfort.

Those Who Know Carry Spyderco.

Knife Description:

Bushcraft is a tradition as much as a sport. It follows a regime of survival skills derived originally from Bushmen of the Southern Hemisphere.  It's mainstreamed today by UK resident Ray Mears through his televised programs outlining how to thrive and survive with only a knife both skillfully and comfortably in nature.

Spyderco's version of a Bushcraft knife results from a three-fold collaboration between Tactical Bushcrafter Chris Claycombe, a Bushcraft website called BushcraftUK.com and Spyderco designers.

The Spyderco Bushcraft Knife got a bit of a bad press the first time round for some poor selection of handle material; well, this time, they have got it spot on. The G10     scales are impeccably finished and I much prefer it in looks to the previous model.

What a great looking knife this is and with an exceptionally comfortable handle and a fantastically high quality razor sharp blade you get a fantastic product.

The Spyderco Bushcraft Knife is a real winner, it is 22.2 cm overall with a 10.2cm blade. The handle is great looking and highly functional G10 and the metal is 0-1 Tool steel.

The G10 handle scales actually make it much more user friendly for all the additional tasks in the field, such as field butchery and game preparation where it is important to have an impervious handle material for hygene.

The blade is made from O-1 Tool Steel which is noted for its toughness and abrasion resistance, it is 10.2 cm long and is 3.5 mm thick which makes it a really versatile size and tough!

The blade is a Scandinavian or Scandi grind. Scandi edges have a single bevel grind, wide and flat that cuts with strength and is able to withstand twisting and hacking. Bushcrafters generally don't seek the characteristics of stainless over the performance of high-carbon edge retention, and is why traditional Bushcraft knives are produced using tool steel for their blades.  O-1's High Carbon content holds a long-term edge but also sharpens easily when laying on a new edge.

The black G-10 handle is contoured for comfort with a backup lanyard hole and the knife carries in a black leather sheath.  It is overall blueprinted for performing wilderness chores such as slicing, chopping, whittling and game processing all done in traditional Bushcraft style

This is very capable piece of kit and now it has been through it upgrade; after it's rather shaky start it now has a very stable and tough handle material and we are sure it will be better received now it is much more useable.

Note: The Knife has a few little stains on the Blade that can probably be polished away with a good compound or polish!
