Chip Carving Set Description:

Our Chip Carving Set features our Chip Carving Knife, Mini-Chip Knife and Skew Knife.
 
Everything you need to create the intricate geometric or freestyle patterns that are the hallmark of the craft. Lettering is also very much part of the art form. So carving the name of somebody special on the boxes, address blocks, wall plaques and other objects you make, turns them into very personal keepsakes that can be cherished and even handed down generation to generation.
 
These knives are made with edge-holding high carbon steel for smoother cutting.
 
The comfortable curved ergonomic handle allows for long periods of carving without hand fatigue.
 
Each carving knife is constructed with an Ash handle and a high carbon steel blade.
 
The high carbon blade holds an edge extremely well and is easily maintained by simple stropping.
 
Each blade is honed, polished and ready to go.
 
The Carving Knife Set includes: Skew Knife (KN11), Mini Hip Carving Knife (KN20) and Chip Carving Knife (KN15).
 
A sharpening compound is included to keep your knife’s edge sharp. Flexcut Gold polishing compound has been specially formulated to apply to the strop like a crayon. Its blend of aluminium and titanium oxide abrasives deburs the hardened steel blade and gives it a smooth polished edge.
 
KN 11 - Skew Knife:
 
The Skew Knife is used for taking more vertical cuts where space is limited for a conventional whittling stroke.
 
KN 15- Chip Carving Knife:
 
Our traditional Chip Carving Knife is a short-bladed knife used to make triangular shaped cuts to create intricate designs in wood. Designs carved in this fashion are cut into the wood or incised, not relieved.
 
KN 20 – Mini Chip Carving Knife
 
The Mini-Chip Carving Knife has a 1.6 cm ultra-thin blade, making unwanted chipping in delicate cuts less likely.
