Sharpening File Description:

Norton Red Head File style Sharpener. Measures 375 mm overall. The 225 x 32 x 20 mm Crystolon sharpening surface features fine and coarse grits.

Use a light honing oil like mineral oil (not included) with this stone. Red painted wood handle. You can also use water instead of oil.

Norton Sharpening Stones are made of the highest quality materials and are unequalled for long sharpening life maintenance of shape and smooth cut.

Generally you will sharpen your knife or tool in this manner: Place the blade at a 20 degree angle and lay the heel of the blade on the stone. Steady the extended tip of the knife with one hand to guide it, and draw the blade toward you, sweeping across the stone in an arc.

Turn the blade over and repeat the process on the other side. Always go in one direction - NEVER NEVER NEVER go back and forth. You will repeat this sharpening gesture 10 to 20 times on each side.
