Product Description:
This 6 Inch – or 15.2 cm double-sided Leather Strop manufactured from Polycarbonate and premium Cow Hide is very versatile tool that can sharpen most knives and tools. The Polycarbonate Core cannot lose its flat surface, nor can it be broken without using tons of force. This material has zero potential to swell, warp or crack when exposed to moisture. The leather has a very low acid content and has not been pre-treated with any compound. Each side of the strop accepts honing compounds of various grades.
The grain (smooth) side of the leather on one side of the strop gives a super mirror polish when using an ultra-fine paste type compound that will soak into the leather. The other side of the strop is rough-out, for use with any compound. Black and green compounds are perfect for field use on this side of the strop.
The Leather Strop isn’t new to sharpening but it is still confusing to some. Like a razor strop, the Paddle Strop is used to put a very fine edge on your knife blade.
For putting the final edge on your tools and knives, we recommend a Leather Strop. After sharpening your knife or tool on a Bench Stone, we recommend finishing it off with a bench strop for an extremely sharp edge. Just think of this strop as your finest stone.
The generous Leather area on the Leather Strop measures 205 x 50 mm in size
Made with pride in the USA.
Note: Please make sure that you do also check out our honing and stropping compounds.
