About Mora:
The town of Mora in Sweden has been a Center of Knife Making for many centuries. The naturally superior Swedish steel, combined with skilled craftsmanship, resulted in knives that became famous for their ability to hold a superior edge and sharpen easily.
The Frosts Blacksmiths in Mora were established in 1891 developed a basic functional style that became a classic, known simply as the “Mora Knife.”
TV Bushcraft Presenters such as Ray Mears recommend the Mora Knives so there must be something good in them.
In fishing, sporting, hunting, survival, tradesman and the professional culinary industries, Mora knives are well known for their superior ability to cut, chop, clean and fillet.
Knife Description:
The Mora Companion MG Fixed Blade Knife is a first-rate, All-Around Outdoor Knife with a profile-ground Blade of cold-rolled Sandvik 12C27 Stainless Steel and a patterned High-friction Grip.
The Companion Knife features a polished Stainless Steel Blade with a half tang and directly-molded into the Handle for extra Strength. Sandvik 12C27 Stainless Steel, hardened to HRC 56-58, produces knives with extreme strength, long life as well as having high resistance to moisture without rusting. Stainless steel stays sharp much longer than Carbon Steel and is far less sensitive to rust.
The Handle made from rigid ABS Plastic features a complete overlay of the high-friction Material Dryflex, for an improved Grip. Being that Dryflex is Latex-free, the Companion Knife is suitable for those with Latex Allergies.
The Sheath is made of strong, olive green ABS Plastic and will attach comfortably to most belts. Its new thumb-push feature makes it easier to draw the Knife with one hand.
The Knife has a Rockwell Hardness of 57 - 58 which gives this knife extreme strength, long life and high resistance to moisture. The Blade comes absolutely razor sharp and ready for use.
