Knife Description:

H E S T stands for "Hostile Environment Survival Tool" and was designed by Robert Young Pelton.

The DPx H.E.S.T Woodsman is manufactured by Lion Steel in Italy .

The HEST features an over built blade crafted from Sleipner Tool Steel (60 Rockwell Hardness) which boasts extreme wear resistance, resistance to chipping and edge retention

Every aspect of the HEST was thought out: the balance, lashing points, thumb control, wire breaker, hex driver and the ability to remove the hollow wood handles.

Careful alignment of the wire break notch and the bottle opener provides two stable lashing points for an improvised longer spear handle, axe or dead drop trap.

There is a bottle opener on the top of the H E S T. The 4.8 mm thick top area ahead of the bottle opener/pry tab allows you to hammer the blade through thick wood.

The pry bar/scraper tool can be used to open stuck objects, pull wood staples and for a multitude of other purposes. The pry bar tip can be re-sharpened when dull.

The Brazilian Santos Hardwood handle scales are hollowed out on the inside to provide a secret/emergency storage area. The wooden handle scales are held in place with slotted 304 Stainless Steel screws.

The H E S T knife/tool can be used with the skeletonized handle.

The DPx Hest Woodsman comes with a top quality fully enclosed Italian Made Leather Sheath.
