This pre-seasoned Camp Dutch Oven from Lodge is a must for the big New Zealand Outdoors... or even just the big backyard! Stew, bake, braise, steam, roast and even turn the lid over and use it as a skillet. Bury it in coals on a blazing fire or let it sizzle away happily on your BBQ grill. Use it on your deck or backyard together with the optional tripod (put link).
 
All Lodge Camp Dutch Ovens come complete with cast iron lids and a sturdy Lifting and Hanging Handle. The lid is flanged to contain hot coals on top of the pot so the oven can be used for baking, stewing and roasting and also inverts for use as a griddle. Three integral legs allow the oven to be perfectly spaced over hot coals for campfire and fireplace cooking.
 
Pre-seasoned Cast Iron from Lodge USA has a superior, even heat distribution while the tight fitting lid seals in moisture to help retain your food's freshness. These qualities reduce the amount of energy needed to cook your food.

Caring for your Lodge Cast Iron Cookware:

Properly cared for, your Lodge Cast Iron Cookware will last for more than a Lifetime. Here are some tips for maintaining your cookware for future generations.

After cooking, clean the utensil with hot water and a stiff brush. Never use a harsh detergent, as it can remove the seasoning. Towel dry thoroughly. While the utensil is dry but still warm from the not water bath, wipe a light coat of vegetable oil or cooking spray on all surfaces. Store in a cool, dry place. Do not store lids on the pot or pan to allow air circulation.

If you notice a metallic taste or see signs of rust, simply scour off the rust, wash the cookware with soap and hot water, dry thoroughly, and re-season using the home seasoning instructions.
