KME Knife Sharpening System – Diamond Stone Kit.
Features a spherical bearing rod guide, angle adjustment scale, angle adjustment knob, blade clamping knob, blade depth reference lines, spring knob, stone retainer, stainless steel guide rod and a solid cherry hardwood pistol grip crafted with posi-grip finger grooves for comfort and control.
Includes Four - (4) KME Gold Series Sharpening Stones (Extra-coarse, coarse, fine, extra fine), (1) 1 oz. empty water bottle and instruction manual.
Based on the rod-and-stone design, the KFD4 can utilize any standard 4″ Sharpening Stone. The angle can be adjusted infinitely anywhere between 17 and 30 degrees. Selecting the angle is as simple as raising or lower the rod slot to the desired height and then locking it into place.
The clamp that holds the blade in place is coated in neoprene to protect the finish of the blade. It is marked with two reference lines. The first line is used for smaller blades and the second line for larger. The stone carrier itself is also easy to use. Simply select the 4″ pocket stone of your choice and place it in the carrier. A single thumb nut is used to clamp down on the blade.
Another important feature is the ability to easily flip the blade 180 degrees without having to remove it from the clamp. This allows the user to quickly work both sides of the blade with little interruption.
The KME KFD Diamond Stone Kit has a wooden pistol style grip that allows you to comfortably hold the assembly in one hand, while operating the sharpener with the other. However, most choose to purchase the base plate (optional) that allows you have both hands free during sharpening.
