Knife Description:
The time..."Zero Dark 30"
This is a special operator's choice tool, designed for rugged performance and specialized use. The hours of darkness. Many military guys know this as slang for very early in the morning. The original meaning was the last bottom of the hour before dawn. Also, 00:30 - Thirty minutes after midnight--used to refer to a very early starting time.
It features a 3/16 thick 1095 Carbon Steel Clip-Point blade with a ground upper false edge (not sharpened) and Rocky Mountain Tread linen Micarta scales for a secure grip under all conditions.
The Zero Dark 30 knife comes with a Ballistic Nylon Sheath with external pocket to stash a folder, kits, etc.
With a Rockwell Hardness of 56-58, the ease of sharpening is astounding. That is if you ever get to sharpen the Blade. As the hardness and edge geometry work beautifully together to make a long lasting edge.
The knife also comes with a TOPS low profile Emergency Whistle field tested to 126DB. The Whistle is manufactured from hardened ultra-heavy duty plastic with no moving parts to freeze up. Size: 70 x 27 x 7 mm.
