The leaf-shaped, Drop-Point Blade is made from American CTS-BD1 stainless steel sporting a full flat grind for effortless cutting. In short it means that it is a stainless type of steel that is easy to sharpen. It is quite strong and retains its sharpness well. Simply a great type of Steel for EDC-use because it is very balanced.
Spyderco's signature opening hole allows the blade to swing open easily with either hand, without any kind of obstruction (like thumb studs) getting in the way of your slices. The distal taper inherent to this blade shape/grind combination also makes for a very acute, and accurate, tip for fine detail work.
The most distinctive element of the Polestar is the special G10 used for the handle scales. The top layer of this material features a unique plaid-like or crosshatched pattern. It stands out from the crowd without having to shout, and the textured surface ensures you have plenty of grip to work with.
Furthering the usability of the Spyderco Polestar is a four-position pocket clip, enabling any carry preference, and a strong liner lock for blade security. Open-backed scale construction makes it easy to keep the knife clean while keeping weight down, and skeletonized full liners ensure plenty of strength for heavier use.
