About Mora:

The town of Mora in Sweden has been a center of knife making for many centuries. The naturally superior Swedish steel, combined with skilled craftsmanship, resulted in knives that became famous for their ability to hold a superior edge and sharpen easily.

The Frosts Blacksmiths in Mora were established in 1891 developed a basic functional style that became a classic, known simply as the “Mora Knife.”

TV bushcraft presenters such as Ray Mears recommends the Mora knives so there must be something good in them. In years gone by, traditionally made Mora knives (the Swedish equivalent is Morakniv) would have been made by using three slabs of steel and then forging them together. The center piece of steel would be a tougher grade such as crucible steel, with softer steels on the outsides, so that they can be sharpened, and then the strength would be in the core of the knife.

In fishing, sporting, hunting, survival, tradesman and the professional culinary industries, Mora knives are well known for their superior ability to cut, chop, clean and fillet.

Knife Description:

A new generation of knives from Mora has Handles covered with a layer of Thermoplastic Rubber for superior Grip as well as a new modern shape.

Survival Knives that come out of the box razor sharp that stay sharp for a long time are wonderful. When they are also very durable and easy to maintain they enter the realm of the fantastic. These durable, simple, Mora Belt Knives are favoured by Survivalists and Bushcraft Experts the world over.

The Morakniv Bushcraft Survival  Knife has an 11 cm razor-sharp Blade with a distinct tip. The all-weather Morakniv® Fire Steel and a Diamond Sharpener intregrated into the Sheath make this Bushcraft Survival Knife the natural choice for those who love the great outdoors.

The 3.2 mm thick Swedish stainless steel blade stays sharp for a long time, is extremely tolerant against wear and has considerable cutting strength. The blade is ridgeground especially for use with the fire steel and comes absolutely razor sharp and ready for use.

The knife has a Rockwell Hardness of 57-58 which gives this knife extreme strength, long life and high resistance to moisture.

Its robust injection-molded Sheath with a bottom drain hole is provided with a well thought out space for the Firesteel and completed with a Diamond Sharpener, making it easy to sharpen the knife blade.
