E. Goddard Limited have a proud heritage stretching from 1927 until today. Edward Goddard, a master cutler from Sheffield, England, emigrated to New Zealand and began designing and manufacturing knives in 1927. The company has grown steadily during its history.

Knife Description:

Victory Knives are manufactured in Auckland, New Zealand.

This very unique Meat Splitter Knife / Cleaver comes with a heavy 35 cm Stainless Steel Blade which is flat ground out of imported German 1.4034 no-stain Stainless Steel.

The 3.2 mm thick Blade is flat ground and has a Rockwell Hardness is 54-56 HRC after a fast oil quench, then an overnight -78C sub-zero quench and a double temper after hardening. Its benefit is a strong, hard and wear resistant blade with an improved Edge Retention.

This heavy Splitting Knife / Cleaver was developed for and is used by some of the finest meat processing plants here in New Zealand to split carcasses of lamb, mutton, venison, pork and even smaller beef down through the spine; centre of the vertebral column. For smaller carcasses this method works better than splitting saws and it is much easier to fully sanitize and re-sharpen the splitting tool.

The SSplitter Knife comes with a Polypropylene Handle with black heat-shrink cover.

All Handle and Blade Materials are MAF and FDA approved.

The ideal Splitter Knife / Cleaver for the NZ Hunter, Homekill or small scale seasonal Butcher.

Note: There are a few minor stains on the knife which are however no rust which can probably be removed.
