This Le Montpellier from Coutellerie Cognet is a traditional French-made Slip-Joint Folder.
The 9 cm Carbon Steel Clip-Point Style Blade manufactured out of XC75 Carbon Steel is full-flat ground and polished finish, stamped “Cognet" on the back of the blade.
The Handle is made of cocobolo Wood.
This model was long manning on ships sailing in ancient times, had disappeared in the early twentieth century, it was undoubtedly a victim of incorporating the locking mechanism.
The Montpellier is an outstanding knife that represents a distillation of the ancestral know-how of a long-standing cutlery tradition from 1835.
