Ruana Knives are handcrafted in the small shop in Bonner, Montana, where Rudy Ruana began forging blades 75 years.

Knife Description:

Based on our most popular knife, the Ruana Smokejumper was originally created in the late 1930's and later became a favourite knife for Western Montana's brave parachuting firefighters that were first on the scene to battle forest fires in rugged and remote mountainous areas. The Smokejumpers would occasionally get hung up in a tree or have their parachute cord tangled during the jump and this compact knife would allow them to cut themselves free.

The versatile Smokejumper blade shape has been tested throughout Montana, the US and other parts of the world.

The Knife is manufactured out of 1095 High Carbon Steel finished to a Rockwell Hardness of 56 – 58. The 7.5 cm Drop-Point Blade is protected with black Traction Coating and ergonomically placed notches on the Skeletonized Handle wrapped with green Paracord promote a solid Grip. Seven feet of Paracord creates a comfortable Handle with backup rope for Emergency Situations.

The knives carries in a tight Kydex Sheath comes with sturdy Bead Chain, Carabiner and strong Belt Clip providing a wide variety of carrying options.

Its design is all any Hunter, Outdoor Enthusiast, Survivalist or anyone requiring a quality Everyday Cutting Tool ever needs.
