Product Description:

The Opinel No. 6 Pocket Knife comes with a 7.3 cm Sandvik 12C27M Stainless Steel Blade with Opinel’s crowned hand hallmark Etching. This Steel is renowned for its incomparable cutting qualities and requires no special protection to maintain or clean it.

The Sandvik 12C27M Stainless Steel is capable of undergoing the heat treatment that gives it its good hardness is called martensitic. It has a carbon content of at least 0.40%, giving it a good cutting edge and an excellent resistance to corrosion.

The knife features a Bubinga Wood Handle and a Safety Ring for locking the Blade in the open or closed position. The African Padouk Wood with its fine grain decorates the handle with pink and red shades. Its color varies from brown to pink with purple veins.

The double Virobloc Safety Ring was created by Marcel Opinel in 1955 and locks the Blade either in open or closed Position. Cut out of stainless steel, the Virobloc has two sections, one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the blade open (safety in use), it is now possible to lock the blade closed (safety in transport).
