The Solo Scientific Tinder Box Solar Fire Starter is a tough, well-designed Fire-lighting Tool which doubles as a pocket-sized storage box for your tinder.

Machined from solid Aircraft-grade Aluminium, the Solar Fire Starter features a polished Parabolic Mirror which can be used to light various forms of tinder simply by harnessing the sun's rays. 

The inside top cover is also a Signal Mirror. Rubber O-ring seal provides an airtight, watertight closure for storing your tinder.

The Solo Scientific Fire Starter comprises three components: a parabolic mirror; an airtight, watertight lid; and a tinder holding arm. To use this practical tool, simply remove the sealed lid, unclip the tinder holder arm and place it in the upright position in the centre of the mirror. Insert your tinder of choice into the expandable slot on the arm, and you're ready to go. When angled correctly, the parabolic mirror focuses the reflected rays of the sun into a singular point, achieving temperatures high enough to ignite your tinder. 

Works great with wild tinder such as dry leaves. A small piece of charcoal briquette ignited and then transferred to a bundle of toilet or tissue paper also works well.

Box includes a small piece of tissue to use as tinder until tinder can be obtained. Includes instruction sheet.
