Splitting Maul Description:

The Council Tool 6# Axe-Eye Splitting Maul comes with a 36" straight Handle made from American Hickory Wood.

The forged Tool Steel head comes with with clear Lacquer Finish to deter rust. The Heat Treatment Process of the Bit End produces a fine Grain Structure and Rc 45-50 (Rockwell) for Safety and Toughness.

The Splitting Maul’s Striking Face is intended for driving steel wedges (Council # 5W) that are used in conjunction with splitting logs. 

The 36-inch Hickory Handle is Kiln dried before turning. Its Eye Ssection is then dried below 10% moisture content prior to assembly. The Axe Head is hydraulically seated onto the Handle and secured with a serrated Aluminium Wedge producing a very secure mechanical Bond.

The Axe Head has a Lifetime Warranty.
