Machete Description:

The Woodman’s Pal is a unique tool which was created by a Woodsman who wanted a Tool for pruning, splitting, chopping, blazing trails, and other outdoor activities.

The Woodman’s Pal has been available since 1941 and is not what you’d call a new kind of machete.

The Woodman’s Pal has been included in Civilian and Military Survival Kits and is referred to as a “Type Four Survival Tool”—it’s a tough, no nonsense tool and an essential piece of survival gear.

The Woodman’s Pal Long Reach Machete comes with a 3.2 mm thick x 26.7 cm 1075 High Carbon Steel Blade hardened to Rockwell Hardness of 47 giving it strength for cutting, keeping its edge and also flexibility in cold weather.
 
It has a resin bonded black Fluorocarbon Coating to prevent corrosion over time, and it won’t crack even in below freezing temperatures or corrode.

The Woodman’s Pal Long Reach Machete Ash Hardwood Handle is made to fit the user’s hand snugly.

The longer Handle provides increased leverage to maintain the traditional Chopping power of heavier models. This lighter weight tool provides for the added control and Blade speed needed for slashing through leafy, springy vegetation. This Long-Reach Tool provides the furthest reach of any Woodman’s Pal ® Tool and is used for jobs where workers can remain at a distance from the actual cutting actions. The unique sickle hook slices through stubborn vines and briars and removes unwanted sprout growth at ground level. The High Carbon Steel Blade Blade cuts Branches and Wood up to 4 cm in diameter with a single stroke.
