The Shun Classic Paring Knife offers a razor-sharp, small 8.9 cm pointed Blade well suited for precise tasks such peeling, trimming, making decorative cuts, or even for chopping small foods like shallots or garlic. The small size of the Paring Knife gives you complete cutting control. Its thin, lightweight blade and a razor-sharp edge make every paring task a breeze. 
 
The Blade is manufactured from Japanese VG-Max Super Steel and measures 21.9 cm overall. The VG-MAX "Super Steel" Blade is clad on each side with 16 microthin layers of High-Carbon Steel, creating a variegated look reminiscent of a Damascus-style blade. The exceedingly sharp Cutting Edge is long lasting and easy to maintain.
 
Hand-crafted in Japan, the Shun Classic Blades are thin and lightweight.
 
The durable PakkaWood handle resists moisture and has a D shape, to sit comfortably in the hand and adds balance and beauty to the knife, whether in the hand or at rest in the block.
