Knife Description:
 
Inspired by designs from 75 years of knife making at our small Ruana Knife Works shop in Bonner, Montana, we are proud to introduce our new line of Ruana Americana Knives.
 
Based on our most popular knife, the Ruana Smokejumper was originally created in the late 1930's and later became a favourite knife for Western Montana's brave parachuting firefighters that were first on the scene to battle forest fires in rugged and remote mountainous areas. The Smokejumpers would occasionally get hung up in a tree or have their parachute cord tangled during the jump and this compact knife would allow them to cut themselves free.
 
But now there is the newly released Ruana Americana Fisherman!
 
With all of us at Ruana Knives having grown up with fishing rods in our hands since we could walk, we have always had a passion for fishing. That fact, combined with Montana’s exceptional angling opportunities (some almost literally within a stone’s throw from our shop) led to the development of the Ruana Americana Fisherman.
 
Based on our traditional Steelhead model and originally created for fishing, we have found this blade works well on anything from a 6” Brook Trout to a 6 point Bull Elk or any Outdoor Endeavor where a good cutting tool is needed.
 
This Knife is manufactured out of 1095 High Carbon Steel finished to a Rockwell Hardness of 56 – 58.  The 7.5 cm Clip-Point Blade is protected with black Traction Coating and ergonomically placed notches on the Skeletonized Handle wrapped with green Paracord promote a solid Grip. Seven feet (2.1 m) of Paracord create a comfortable Handle with back-up rope for Emergency Situations.
 
The Ruana Fisherman carries in a tight Kydex Sheath and comes with sturdy Bead Chain, Carabineer and strong Belt Clip providing a wide variety of Carrying options.
 
Its design is all any Fisherman, Hunter, Outdoor Enthusiast, Survivalist or anyone requiring an lightweight Everyday quality Cutting Tool ever needs.
