The Stubai 6 Point Instep Crampons are a small and extremely light crampon for gaining grip in hard or slippery conditions. Ideal for spring tours when crossing tricky old snow patches.
 
These 6 pointers are similar to the 4 point instep crampons, but about 25mm longer and infinitely adjustable for width at both the front and back but two screws.
 
Instep crampons are no substitute for a 10 or 12 point walking crampon when it comes to proper winter conditions.  However, they are small enough and light enough to put in your sack "just in case" on days when there is no real accumulation of snow, but you may have to cross quite extensive patches of ice across the path.  In these situations they may, literally, be a life-saver.
