Extrema Ratio, located in Prato, Italy, has been designing, manufacturing and selling high performance combat knives since 1997 enjoying a reputation for excellence that is unsurpassed in the military and tactical knife industry.
Product Description:
SHRAPNEL OG is a truly versatile “back up” knife with marked combat qualities. Its leaf-shaped blade is flat ground at a characteristically low angle to a wide, extraordinarily sharp edge.
The included hard sheath can be worn vertically, horizontally or obliquely (at a 45° angle). Unlike the older model it supersedes, the SHRAPNEL OG hilt design does not include a guard.
The original version of the SHRAPNEL OG comes with a 3.9 in compact Handle but this Full Handle version comes with a more comfortable 5 in Forprene Handle.
The Blade is a Spear/Leaf Point Blade with a surface grinding on the edge. The Material used for the Blade is N690 Stainless Steel, nicknamed „Austrian 440“. The Steel has its nick from the Austrian manufacturer Bohler, who is the only company that makes this steel, worldwide.
The N690 Steel is closely related to 440C. The N690 is containing more cobalt and some other materials than 440C. This makes the N690 more corrosion resistant and harder than the original 440C.
The Grip is made out of Thermoplastic Elastomer Forprene with a 8mm Strike-device or window breaker with a Lanyard-Hole. Forprene is an extremely tough synthetic Material which feels like hard rubber. The Grip is slip resistant with or without gloves, with wet or dry hands.
An Automatic Hard Sheath with "Tek-lok" is included and it can be positioned either vertically or horizontally.
Extrema Ratio Shrapnel is the ideal Back-Up Knife. Highly recommended for concealed carry. Best choice of Military and Outdoor Buffs.
