Esca® – More fish more fun!
The story behind ESCA:
In the late 90s, while on vacation in the south Pacific, Esca’s founder witnessed fishermen who used fish/squid with light organs as bait for other fish. These indigenous people had been doing this for generations.
He decided to try to make a product that could imitate these lure lights. And thus, the idea for Esca was born.
For millions of years, marine animals have used lights to attract pretty, protect themselves or reproduce. On land such lights are rare, but in water there are light-producing creatures in virtually every cubic meter of the ocean. Bioluminescence, or Esca, is therefore visible light that is produced by living creatures.
Krill, for example are the ocean’s largest biomass, have multiple light organs are the main food for many fish and can be found at all ocean depths. In addition, many squid species use lure lights for multiple purposes.
But, no other species uses lure lights to attract its prey better than the angler fish.
The company’s name comes from an ocean-dwelling predator with a reputation for deadly efficiency – the angler fish, which uses its dangling light organ fishing antennae – called esca – to attract its prey.
ESCA ® Attractor Description:
A genuinely new and innovative product that will help you catch more fish – an essential addition to even the best-stocked tackle box.
Inspired by nature’s living lights, Esca® is expertly integrated into small units that are used as add-ons to any lures or tackle. Esca® uses no batteries and generates its own energy in salt water.
Attached to your favorite lure or tackle, Esca® will help you catch more fish.
Esca® – More fish more fun!
Esca® attractors weigh 7 grams. They can be used by themselves as a small jig, though we recommend using them together with spinners, jigs and bait or in combination with Esca® accessories such as shrimp and squid.
You can combine the Esca® with other items of fishing tackle in a number of different ways. |
What is special about the Esca® attractor is that the light is emitted in all directions, whereas the smell of the bait spreads out only in the direction in which the water is flowing.
As a result we have had very good results from attaching the esca® in front of each hook when fishing with a line or a long line – so we can definitely recommend combining an Esca® attractor with a spinner and bait (mackerel fillet, shrimp, etc.).
Esca® blue and Esca® green fishing lures are optimized to emit very specific wavelengths that mimic the predominant lure lights used by marine organisms.
Additionally our research shows, that static light doesn´t attract fish as effectively as dynamic light – which is why Esca® comes in fading and multi-blink.
The colors blue and green are very specific light wavelengths that simulate lure lights used by marine organisms.
Blue light is the colour most commonly used by marine organisms in their light organs. It is also the wavelength that penetrates deepest and furthest in water.
In shallower waters containing more particles and algae, green light is more often used, though this varies from season to season and place to place.
We recommend therefore that you figure out what works best in your favourite fishing spots. |
