Axe, one of mankinds oldest tools. In the heat, the soot and the noise the blacksmith has since time immemorial hammered passion, shape, and soul into the glowing iron.
For over 100 years Wetterlings have made axes. Wetterlings axes are tools of the highest quality in terms of durability and performance.
A Wetterlings is not only an axe - its a friend for life.
About Wetterlings:
All Wetterlings Axes and Wedges are Handforged from Swedish Quality Steel alloyed from iron, carbon, silicon, manganese and vanadium.
Hand Forging uses Presses that deliver many blows, making an Axe stronger than if they were drop forged. The special Axe alloy used by Wetterlings makes high quality hardening possible.
After grinding, hardening and tempering the Wetterlings Axes keep a Rockwell Hardness of 57 - 58.
These are the main reasons why Wetterlings Axes hold a keen edge with good sting longer than most axes.
The Handles are lathed from American Hickory.
The best Stress Capacity and Resistance to blows make Hickory the Good of choice for good Axe Handles.
