Wetterlings Splitting Maul - Handforged
Overall Length: 82 cm
Handmade in Sweden
A Wetterlings is not only an axe - its a friend for life.
About Wetterlings:
All Wetterlings Axes are handforged from Swedish Quality Steel.
Hand Forging uses presses that deliver many blows, making an axe stronger than if they were drop forged. The special Axe alloy used by Wetterlings makes high quality hardening possible.
After grinding, hardening and tempering the Wetterlings Axes keep a Rockwell Hardness of 57 - 58. These are the main reasons why Wetterlin Axes hold a keen edge with good sting longer than most axes.
The Handles are lathed from American Hickory. The best Stress Capacity and Resistance to blows make Hickory the Good of choice for good Axe Handles.
Today 10 blacksmiths proudly continue the tradition of producing world class axes. This means that every axe that leaves the factory in Sweden has its own unique character and bears its own distinguishing mark.
Axe Description:
Wetterlings handforged Splitting Maul is a powerful ax made for splitting logs and large chunks of wood.
Therefore the cutting edge is shaped at an aggressive angle and the bit is ridged. This makes splitting easier and ensures the axe doesnt get stuck in the wood.
The Splitting Maul has a tempered poll that can be used in combination with a splitting wedge that is both twisted and rippled to deal with the most gnarled logs.
It is supplied with a protective Sheath Made out of tanned Leather.
